Hello parents! My name is Deepika Peddi and I am the owner and teacher of Prism Montessori Preschool.

My professional background includes a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Following this, I worked as a Software Engineer at Microsoft, in the Windows Embedded and Mobile teams for eight years. Driven by a desire to focus on my two young children, I then chose to transition to a stay-at-home mom role. This change happened to coincide with our move to Irvine in 2013.

I was first drawn to the Montessori way of teaching when looking for a preschool for our older son, in the Seattle area. The more I researched about it, the more I was enamored by it. Since I was working as a software engineer at that time, the thought of becoming a teacher myself was far from my mind. Both our children went on to attend Montessori preschools and we believe it was key to their early development and success. As a stay-at-home mom, I was actively involved in my kids' activities and this led me into math tutoring, specifically Math Oympiad coaching for elementary-aged kids. It was then that I discovered the pleasure of teaching young children. The younger they were, the more I enjoyed spending time with them. Combining my love of Montessori with the desire for working with young children led me to pursue Montessori training for preschool aged children. I earned my Early Education Credential as a Montessori teacher in 2019 through the UCI Montessori Teacher Training Program, which is conducted by the University Montessori School.

Working with a small group of children in my home-based program brings me much satisfaction when compared to having worked in a large Montessori School. I get 1:1 time with each of my kids on an everyday basis, which enables me to form strong bonds with them and meet their unique needs. The families of my students tend to form close relationships with the school and with each other as well, which promotes the success of the child.

I live in the Stonegate Community of Irvine, CA, with my husband and two sons, one of whom is in college and the other in high school.

Hello! I am Annapurna Somasila, and I work as an Assistant at Prism Montessori.

I previously worked as a Supervisor at Eastwood Elementary School, where I monitored children during recess and lunch times. I love spending time with kids and enjoy working with them every day.

I live in the Eastwood community of Irvine, CA, with my husband and two children, both of whom are in college now.

Parent Volunteers

Parent volunteers are welcome in our school as long as they are able to provide us with proof of immunizations. Whether you have a particular talent and wish to use it for the benefit of the kids, or you just want to assist in class, we will be glad of your services.
