The first essential for the child’s development is concentration. The child who concentrates is immensely happy.

Our School

Prism Montessori is a home-based Montessori preschool, founded in February 2021. It was created with the intention to nurture and support young children during their most important early years. We believe that a home-based preschool provides the ideal environment for young children to learn and thrive. The familiar setting, along with loving and attentive providers, allows children to explore and learn with confidence, while the small group size enables teachers to meet the unique needs of each child.

Guided by the principles of Montessori education, our classroom is carefully prepared with high-quality learning materials that are arranged in an orderly, inviting, and aesthetically pleasing way. Children are naturally drawn to beauty and order, and this set up induces them to actively engage in learning.

We believe that a child’s preschool experience is most successful when families and teachers work in partnership. Open communication is central to our philosophy. We are available daily to share observations, answer questions, and collaborate with parents to support each child’s growth and well-being. By fostering strong relationships with families, we aim to create a supportive, transparent, and nurturing experience for both children and parents.

Meet Our Founder & Lead Montessori Guide

Hello and welcome! My name is Deepika Peddi, and I am the founder and Montessori guide of Prism Montessori Preschool.

My journey into education began later than most—but it was a deeply intentional and heartfelt choice. Teaching young children is not simply my profession; it is a source of daily joy and purpose. I feel incredibly grateful to do this work every day.

Before entering the world of early childhood education, I earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and spent eight years working as a Software Engineer at Microsoft in the Seattle area. In 2012, wanting to be fully present for my two young children, I chose to step away from my corporate career and focus on my family, which also coincided with our move to Irvine. This season of life ultimately led me to my true calling. In 2019, I completed my Early Childhood Education credential through the UCI Montessori Teacher Training Program, formally beginning my Montessori journey.

I was first introduced to Montessori while searching for a preschool for our older son. The more I learned, the more I was drawn to its respect for the child, its emphasis on independence, and its calm, purposeful learning environment. At the time, becoming a teacher myself was never something I imagined. Both of our children went on to attend Montessori preschools, and we strongly believe that this foundation played a key role in their early development and confidence. Today, with one child in college and one in high school, I bring the perspective of both a seasoned educator and a parent who has "been there."

During my time as a stay-at-home mom, I became deeply involved in my children’s education and activities, which led me to tutor elementary-aged students in math. It was through this experience that I discovered how much I loved teaching young children. The younger the child, the more joy I found in working with them and guiding them. Combining my passion for Montessori education with my desire to work with young children led me to pursue formal Montessori training for preschool-aged children.

When I first started Prism Montessori, my primary goal was to create a happy, nurturing place where children loved to learn. Over time, I realized that supporting parents is just as important to me as guiding children. When my own children were in preschool, I often felt anxious—wondering if they were happy, understood, and cared for each day. Like many parents, we chose reputable schools, but large centers often made it difficult to truly know what our children experienced daily.

One of my strongest commitments as a school founder is transparency and communication. I believe that parents deserve clarity and peace of mind about their child’s day, and that a truly beautiful preschool experience happens when both the child and the parents feel supported, confident, and happy. Having once been a busy working parent myself, I deeply understand the challenges families face, and I strive to approach each family with empathy, respect, and partnership. My hope is that every family who passes through Prism Montessori looks back on their preschool years with warmth and gratitude.

Our Team

Prism Montessori is lovingly supported by a dedicated team. Ms. Anna, our classroom assistant, has been with the school for over three years. Prior to joining us, she worked as a supervisor at Eastwood Elementary School, monitoring children during recess and lunch periods. As a mother of two grown children now in college, she brings a wealth of child-rearing experience and a calm, nurturing presence. Children naturally form strong bonds with Ms. Anna, spending time talking, working, and learning alongside her each day.

We are also fortunate to have Ms. Sindhoo, a former Prism Montessori parent turned beloved art teacher. She joins us weekly to lead engaging art sessions that encourage creativity, independence, and self-expression. Her thoughtfully planned projects are always a highlight of the week, and many of our budding artists proudly declare her their favorite teacher.

In addition to our staff, parent involvement is always welcome at Prism Montessori. Whether parents wish to share a special talent, assist in the classroom, or simply be part of the community, we value and appreciate their presence. We believe that a strong partnership between school and family enriches the experience for everyone—most importantly, the children.

At Prism Montessori, we are honored to be part of your child’s early years and look forward to creating a joyful, meaningful journey together.
