Hello parents! My name is Deepika Peddi and I am the owner and teacher of Prism Montessori.

My path to becoming a preschool teacher began when we were looking for a preschool for our older son, in the Seattle area. I learned about the Montessori way of teaching, and the more I researched about it, the more I was enamored by it. I was working as a software engineer at Microsoft at that time, and the thought of becoming a teacher myself was far from my mind. Several years later when I quit my job to be a stay at home mom and undertook math tutoring, I discovered the pleasure of teaching young kids. Combining my love of Montessori with the desire for working with young children eventually led me to pursue Montessori training for preschool aged children. I earned the Early Education Credential as a Montessori teacher from the UCI Montessori Teacher Training Program (https://irvinemontessori.com/montessori-teacher-education/).

Working with a small group of children in my home-based program brings me much satisfaction when compared to having worked in a large Montessori School. I get 1:1 time with each of my kids on an everyday basis, which enables me to form strong bonds with them and meet their unique needs. The families of my students tend to form close relationships with the school and with each other as well, which promotes the success of the child.

I live with my husband and two high school aged sons in the Stonegate community of Irvine, CA.

Hello! My name is Annapurna Somasila, and I work as an Assistant at Prism Montessori.

I previously worked as a Supervisor at Eastwood Elementary School, where I monitored children during recess and lunch times. I love spending time with kids and enjoy working with them every day.

I live with my family in the Eastwood community of Irvine, CA. My son is currently in high school and my daughter is in college.

Parent Volunteers

Parent volunteers are welcome in our school as long as they are able to provide us with proof of immunizations. Whether you have a particular talent and wish to use it for the benefit of the kids, or you just want to assist in class, we will be glad of your services.
